Title: | Predictive state control of elastic and inelastic structures during earthquakes | Authors: | Yang, Rong | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Civil engineering::Structures and design | Issue Date: | 2003 | Abstract: | Pistachio nuts are abundantly available in the Middle East and the United States of America. Therefore, large quantities of the shells will be generated. To further utilise these cheap and abundant solid wastes, it is proposed to use them as starting materials for the preparation of activated carbons because of their high carbon and low ash contents. In this project, the feasibility of preparing effective adsorbent from pistachio-nut shell for the removal of gaseous pollutant such as sulphur dioxide was studied. Subsequent adsorption kinetic studies for both single particle and column bed systems were carried out. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/12140 | Schools: | School of Civil and Environmental Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
