Title: | Testing on condenser heat exchange and pressure drop properties | Authors: | Tan, Hui Chi. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Control and instrumentation | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | Presently, there is a significant increase in the awareness of energy sustainability worldwide. Especially in this 21st century, whereby energy is on high demand. Hence, research has been done on clean energy such as solar energy, hydropower and many others to find ways to tab and fully utilize them. This has led to many inventions such as a double cycle refrigerant system used in airconditioning and many other cooling applications. The cycle involves a vapour compression refrigerant system incorporated with a solar-driven ejector refrigerant system for energy efficiency. The ejector refrigerant system will be discussed in this context as it has the ability to function on low heat. Thus, permits the use of solar power or waste heat energy. In addition, production and maintenance of an ejector refrigerant system is economically cheaper and produce better overall COP based on different ejector parameters. Besides that, the refrigerant R134a is chosen because it is not only environmentally friendly, but also produces better COP compared to other refrigerants. However in this project, all tests were done indoor to ensure the system's efficiency before it is being send outdoor to employ solar power. Furthermore, tests conducted are more focus on the performances of the ejector and its impact on the system as the ejector plays a major part in the system's COP and also, proves to be more interesting to analysis and study on than the condenser. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/49307 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
