Title: | High efficiency solar cell characterization | Authors: | Thang, Leonard Kai Xiang. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Semiconductors | Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | Over the years, there has been an increasing reliance on fossil fuels. Coal, oil and natural gases are the most common types of fossil fuels used for various operations from industrialization to household purposes. This increasing demand is depleting the fossil fuels very quickly. It is one of the biggest problems that still exist today. The estimated time for the depletion of fossil fuel like oil, coal and gas are roughly 35, 107 and 37 years respectively.[1] Hence, it is important to find an alternative for this problem. Solar energy is an option to solve this problem. Single-junction solar cells are being used to convert sunlight into power. However, single-junction solar cells do not have sufficient efficiency. Therefore, more emphasis and research about multi-junction solar cells are being conducted to make a break-through in the efficiency. This report will be discussing the characterisation of high efficiency solar cells. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/55126 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
