Abstract: The study of entrepreneurship is a relatively new and unexplored area of research. There are many aspects pertaining to it. The focus of this report is on regionalisation and its impacts on entrepreneurship in Singapore. The Asia-Pacific region has been hailed as the playground for the future. Even those dormant Asian economies are beginning to awake. The study briefly highlights the opportunities and threats present in light of Asia's rapid growth and examines the impact of this growth spurt on Singapore's economy, given the country's strengths and weaknesses. Insights on the reasons for the overseas expans10n of local enterprises were gathered through the interviews conducted with food companies in Singapore. The population was confined to the food industry so as to minimise the fundamental structural differences that exist between industries. The survey findings might have been distorted if a cross-section of industries was used. In addition, the problems faced by these enterprises in their pursuit of overseas expansion are examined. The assistance available in Singapore to meet the needs of these enterprises are discussed and evaluated for their adequacy. Finally, recommendations are made to enhance the development of overseas enterprises. These propositions are based on the survey results as well as information obtained from our literature search. The issues covered include tax and fiscal benefits, human resource development for Singapore and the development of Singapore brands.
