Title: | Parametric study of doubler plate reinforced circular hollow section T : joints at elevated temperature | Authors: | Zulfadli Mat Noor | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Civil engineering::Construction management | Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | The basic performance of doubler plate reinforced circular hollow section (CHS) T-joint under axial tension in elevated temperature was researched. A finite element model using ABAQUS software was created and simulated. The ultimate strength of the joint under tension is obtained from stress-strain curves under different temperatures. The peak values are judged from Yura limit deformation method. Furthermore, manipulations of material properties at elevated temperatures are used to save analysis time. Steel joints under different geometric parameters range which is brace-to-chord diameter ratio (β) are studied to prove as a key factor in CHS T-joint’s ultimate strength available at elevated temperature. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/64440 | Schools: | School of Civil and Environmental Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
