Title: | Measurement of water adsorption on AQSOA type zeolites and metal organic framework using different isotherm models | Authors: | Mok, Eugene Chia Chun | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | This study targets to examine the amount of water vapour uptakes on zeolites type AQSOA-Z01 , MIL-101, MOF801SC, Aluminum Fumarate, CAU-10 under static conditions were measured for the temperatures ranging from 298K to 333K and pressures up to the saturated conditions. These adsorption uptakes data were then fitted with isotherm models such as Chakraborty-Sun, Modified Langmuir and Dubinin Astakhov for studying static conditions and finding their thermodynamic properties. The difference between the adsorption and desorption isotherm is called the hysteresis behaviour. The experimentally measured isotherms data varying from Henry's region up to the saturated pressure are also expressed in terms of pressure to temperature uptake co-ordinate system for the calculation of the isosteric heat of adsorption (Qst). Qst was calculated using the Clausius Clapeyron equations with the experimental isotherms data. The Qst derived from other isotherms were also added for comparison. The AQSOA Z01 ,MIL-101 , Aluminum Fumarate and CAU-10 materials show type V isotherms. However, for MOF801SC adsorbent with water, the isotherm models does not fit within the acceptable error ranges. The data acquired from experiments were plotted against isotherm model within the 5% error ranges. These isotherms data are useful to design adsorption assisted heat-transmission systems. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/72119 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
