Title: | Design and development of software to interpret ultrasonic signals | Authors: | Sun, Tun | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | Ultrasonic testing has been continuously popular in non-destructive testing technique. However, the interpretation and analysis of the testing is carried out manually and it hugely depends on the experience of the inspector. Besides, the process can be inconsistent, and it impacts on the accountability and reliability of the results. A software program to automatically analyze the signals received from the ultrasonic equipment is designed and developed. The numerical values of the signals are extracted and computed in the MATLAB program. The results of the computation and analysis are saved in the text format and plotted in the diagram for visual display. A refined programming flow chart is constructed for the continuous improvement and prospects of the current source code are elaborated. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/73041 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
