Title: | Properties and application of ceramic sensors and actuators in smart home and smart car | Authors: | Chan, Yong Quan | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Semiconductors | Issue Date: | 2018 | Abstract: | The objective of this research-type Final Year Project is to understand the significant of using ceramic sensors and actuators for smart home and smart car application. Ceramic is one of the most important and key materials for building sensor that can operate under harsh environments. Due to many of its great properties, it has been commonly used by manufacturers and engineers in fabricating or coating the components of sensor and actuator. This FYP report consists of key topics like piezoelectric and pyroelectric, the sensing element are made possible by using the principle of these two topics. Without a sensor or actuator, it is impossible to implement a closed loop control system for either smart home or smart car. In a midst of transition to a high demand for smart technologies, research on the most suitable materials for fabricating the sensors and actuators is paramount. Ceramics are widely used in many applications due to its phenomenon properties such as good electrical and thermal properties, light in weight and corrosion resistance. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/75226 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
