Title: | Decentralised droop control for parallel operation of distribution generation | Authors: | Hong, Jonathan Qian Ming | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Power electronics DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electric power::Production, transmission and distribution |
Issue Date: | 2019 | Abstract: | The Final Year Project (FYP) is one of the graduation requirements for all engineering undergraduates in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The objective of this report is to record and detail all research materials and learning points of the author during AY2018/2019. The research topic “Decentralised Droop Control for Parallel Operation of Distribution Generation” is chosen by the author and the necessary equipment are located in the NTU Clean Energy Research Laboratory (CERL), at S2-b7c-05. Currently, there is a lack of decentralised droop control for inverter-based system to fully replace conventional generation system which hinders efforts to combat global warming. Due to the present industrial gap and potential environmental benefits to our society, hence this research is conducted to help contribute to this research field. This report is sectioned into six parts: “Introduction”, “Literature Review”, “Discussion and Results”, “Limitations”, “Future Recommendations” and “Conclusion”. The basic outline of the project is firstly stated in the “Introduction” to show the flow of progress of the report. Next, the “Literature Review” provides the introduction of some technical terms and understanding utilised in the report. The “Discussion and Results” will explain the application of concepts and knowledge in constructing the testing of the decentralised inverter-based generation system. The “Limitations” states any shortcomings found during the project and the “Future Recommendations” states possible expansions and potential developments of the project to further refine the objective of this project in the future. Finally, the “Conclusion” will summarise all the research, development and analysis done by the author during the period of this FYP. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/77307 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Organisations: | Clean Energy Research Lab | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
