Dr Chanika Charoenwong joined the Division of Banking and Finance, Nanyang Business School, at NTU since 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Thammasat University, MBA from NIDA, Master of Art and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Memphis. Dr. Charoenwong has taught many courses in Finance and Economics.

Prior to joining the academia, Dr Charoenwong had many years of working experience as a financial analyst at financial institutes such as Dhana Siam Security and Finance Company and Thai Farmer Bank in Thailand. After earning her PhD, she joined the faculty members at the School of Economics and Development at NIDA and was frequently invited to teach at Chulalongkorn University and other universities. In Singapore, she taught economics and finance courses, as a part-time instructor, at the State University of New York (Singapore Campus) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) before becoming to be a full-time faculty at NTU in 2011. At NTU she taught Business Finance, Money 101 (Personal Finance) and Sustainability: Issues, Reporting and Finance. She has also taught Financial Management. She is the recipient of the 2022 NBS Divisional Teaching Excellence Award (TEA). She was also nominated for NBS Business Teacher of the Year Award for Year 2022 and 2020.
Dr Charoenwong’s current research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, corporate social responsibility and personal finance.
