Dr Andy H. Y. Ho is a multiple award winning social scientist, educator and psychologist who specializes in psychosocial gerontology, arts and creative ageing, palliative and bereavement care, holistic therapies and community empowerment. He is a Board Director of the prestigious International Work Group on Death Dying and Bereavement (IWGDDB), as well as the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). He is also a Fellow in Thanatology and a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Andy has helped secure over SGD$15 million in competitive grants and efficaciously conducted numerous empirical, translational, and participatory action research projects for building and promoting active and compassionate citizenry. Since joining Nanyang Technological University in November 2015, he has been awarded 13 major competitive research grants totaling SGD$5 million as Principal Investigator and Co-Principle Investigator from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the National Arts Council Singapore, Temasek Foundation, Lien Foundation and other prominent funding bodies.

Leading a large team of researchers, clinicians, and frontline healthcare professionals, Andy has successfully completed the pioneering Evaluation Study of the National Advance Care Planning Programme in Singapore, the first-ever Lived Experience Study on Parental Bereavement of Child Loss, as well as the ground-breaking Landscape Study on The Arts for Ageing Well in Asia. He has also founded a number of innovative and acclaimed psycho-socio-spiritual interventions including: Mindful-Compassion Art Therapy (MCAT) for burnout prevention and resilience building among caregivers; Family Dignity Intervention (FDI) for advancing holistic end-of-life care services; Narrative e-Writing Intervention (NeW-I) for augmenting pediatrics palliative and parental bereavement services; and Aspiration and Resilience Through Intergenerational Storytelling and Art-based Narratives (ARTISAN) for citizen empowerment and loneliness alleviation.

Based on this body of work, Andy has produced numerous public health campaigns and short film documentaries; authored over 100 top-tier journal articles, books, chapters and research reports; as well as presented in over 160 keynote, plenary, invited and competitive conference presentations. His social and scholarly contributions have been recognized with distinction by academic and professional bodies around the world.
