Dr. Yong Liang Guan obtained his Bachelor of Engineering at the National University of Singapore and PhD degree from the Imperial College London. He is a Professor of Communication Engineering with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU. He is also the Co-Director of Continental-NTU Corporate Lab. His research focus are in the areas of coding and signal processing for communication systems and information storage systems. He has published an invited monograph, 2 books and more than 480 journal and conference papers. He is an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. He has secured over S$70 million of external research funding as PI and Co-I. He established the Continental-NTU Corporate Lab, Schaeffler Hub for Advance Research at NTU EEE, and NTU-NXP Intelligent Transport System Testbed. He has 3 granted patents, one of which was licensed to NXP Semiconductors.

US 2012/0269412 A1: A Method Of Providing Security For Transmitting A Digital Medical Image (2014)
Abstract: A method of preparing a digital medical image for secure transmission, the method comprising embedding data into the digital medical image using a reversible watermarking process, generating a code for tamper detection and localization from the digital medical image using a computational function, and embedding the code for tamper detection and localization into the digital medical image using the reversible watermarking process; and a method of reviewing a digital medical image prepared by the method of preparing, the method of reviewing comprising retrieving the code for tamper detection and localization from the digital medical image; reversing the watermarking processes to obtain a restored image; generating a code from the restored image using the computational function; and comparing the retrieved code for tamper detection and localization with the code generated from the restored image to detect and locate tampering.
