Assoc Prof Poh Eng Hin has been with the Nanyang Business School since July 1998. He has a Bachelor in Accountancy from NTU and a Masters in Taxation and Public Finance from the University of Bath (UK). He is also an Accredited Tax Adviser (Income Tax).
Currently, Eng Hin’s research interests are in the equity effects of tax reforms, tax/fiscal consciousness, and tax expenditure analysis. He was Divisional (Business Law) Researcher of the Year in 2005, 2007, and 2017.
Eng Hin currently teaches taxation-related courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He won the Nanyang Award for Excellence in Teaching and the NBS Teacher of the Year (Accountancy) Award in 2006, 2012, and 2020. He was Divisional (Business Law) Teacher of the Year in 2004, 2008, 2011, and 2013.
Outside of NTU, Eng Hin served previously as the Examiner for taxation-related papers of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Singapore Chartered Accountants Qualification (SCAQ). He also previously served as a member of the Income Tax Board of Review and the Tax Academy of Singapore’s Curriculum and Education Development Committee. Currently, he is a member of the board of directors of the Tax Academy of Singapore.
