Marc Glöde (PhD) is a curator, critic and film scholar.

His work focuses on the relationship between images, technology, space, and the body, as well as the dynamics between fields such as art/architecture, art/film, and film/architecture. He received his PhD at The Free University of Berlin and has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, the FU Berlin, Academy of Fine Arts Berlin, and was Assistant Professor at the ETH Zürich. Since 2017, he has been an Assistant Professor at NTU ADM, Singapore, and Co-Director of the MA in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practices.

Glöde has worked as a curator since the mid-1990s. From 2008-2014, he was senior curator of Art Film, Art Basel's film program. From 2010-2012, he worked with art berlin contemporary in different capacities including head curator and later, advisor. He has also worked as an independent curator. He was guest curator for Experimenta Festival 2007 in Mumbai/Bangalore and has curated exhibitions including STILL/MOVING/STILL – The History of Slide Projection in the Arts (Knokke), (Re-)locating the Self (Hamburg), Filmic Reflections on the Document (Bonn), Tom Marioni – Actions (Berlin), Tadeusz Kantor (Edinburgh/Berlin) and What a great space you have (New York/Los Angeles). More recently, Glöde curated To Draw A Line at NTU ADM Gallery, Suzanne Victor: Of Waters and On Time: Adeline Kueh, Jason Lim, Ian Woo, Zul Mahmod at STPI, Singapore. He has also been involved in film programmes, curating NTU CCA’s film programmes such as Reso-nating Structures to accompany the “Siah Armajani: Spaces for the Public Spaces for Democracy” exhibition (2019), and co-curating the A+ Online Festival of Video Art (2020).

Glöde is a collaborator in the ongoing four-person project Progressive Disintegrations first exhibited at Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, Singapore (2020-21), and has also worked with other independent spaces such as Grey Projects, Singapore, Heritage Space and DocLab, Hanoi, in the Southeast Asian region.

He authored the book Farbige Lichträume/Colored Space of Light (2014) and was co-editor of Umwidmungen (2005) and Synästhesie-Effekte (2011). His writing has been published in The Impossibility of Mapping [Urban Asia] (2020), The State of Motion 2019: A Fear of Monsters, and publications such as Fantom, Texte zur Kunst, OSMOS, Parkett, and Art in America, among others.

• Reconsidering Curatorial Practice: An investigation into the latest changes in curatorial practice and the dynamic development of the field in relation to aspects of film, globalization, digitization and multi-media practice.

• Lively Laboratories: A critical analysis and revision of the art laboratory as apparatus of contemporary knowledge production in Southeast Asia.
