Clive holds a PhD in small business management and Master of Business Research from UWA (University of Western Australia) and an MBA from Nanyang Business School, NTU. He teaches Strategic Management in NTU since 2003 and had been the course leader. Clive is an Advisory Board member of a Strategy textbook, Exploring Strategy, published by Prentice Hall. Clive had been an external examiner for SIM University for the Strategic Management module. He previously held Senior Managerial positions at Groupe Schneider, Yokogawa Electric and Mettler-Toledo. In these large MNCs for about two decades with responsibilities covering Asia Pacific, his roles include managing sales force, distribution networks and strategic business units.
Industry contributions:
Clive is a member of the “Internationalization” sub-committee within the SME Committee, a part of Singapore Business Federation. His contribution as a sub-committee member is to make recommendations to the Government to grow the SMEs especially internationally. Clive has consulted and conducted training for SMEs as well as for the large organizations. He is currently the Director for WDA-Nanyang Hi-Potential Leadership Programme. He had done several case-study related consulting projects with Ministry of Manpower and Temasek Holdings among others. Clive served as judge and workshop facilitator for entrepreneurship competitions to encourage start-ups through for example, the Ideasinc, NTC. Also, Clive had taught Strategic management for ICPAS and the Australian CPA for candidates taking the Professional Examinations for the purpose of obtaining the CPA qualification.
Social contributions:
Clive had been an active Faculty Advisor to NTU SIFE (now known as Enactus) organization. Enactus is an organization aimed at promoting social enterprise. He was recognized for his contribution in the organization and was presented the Best Faculty award in 2010. The NTU team had since won the National Champion award thrice. Clive had been also a Board member of NTU Sports Council since 2008 as well as a Vice-Chairman of a Constituency Sports Club. Currently, he is a Faculty Advisor for NTU SCDF.
