Associate Professor Victor Yeo is currently Deputy Associate Provost (Student Life). He joined the University in 1992 after spending several years in private legal practice doing general commercial and corporate litigation at a leading law firm. Associate Professor Yeo has served in various administrative capacities for over 15 years since joining the University. His past portfolios at the University include appointments in the Nanyang Business School as its Associate Dean (Undergraduate Student Life), the Head of the Division of Business Law and the Director of the MBA (Business Law) programme. He has also served in the University’s Senate for two terms, with one term of service as a member of the Senate Steering Committee. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2013.

Associate Professor Yeo’s research interests are in corporate law, corporate governance and legal risk management. His publications in these areas includes journal articles in leading general and corporate law journals in Singapore, UK, Australia and Hong Kong and contributions towards initiatives such as the OECD Asian Round Table on Corporate Governance. He is the lead co-author of Commercial Applications of Company Law in Singapore, which is used both as a textbook in various institutions of higher learning as well as a reference for practitioners and was invited to author of the Business Organisations chapter for the International Promotion of Singapore Law Project, a research project spearheaded by the Singapore Academy of Law. Associate Professor Yeo has also co-authored several other texts and chapters on business and company law and is a contributor to the Company Law volume of Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore. He was also a member of the Singapore Law Reports (Re-issue) Editorial Board and has served as a reviewer for articles published in major local and international academic journals.

As Associate Professor of Law, Associate Professor Yeo has taught in the University’s undergraduate and post-graduate programmes, focusing on corporate law, corporate governance and securities regulation. He has also been directly involved in the design of various law and governance modules and programmes for the University. Associate Professor Yeo continues to be actively involved in corporate advisory work as well as in continuing professional education and development and has designed and conducted numerous training programmes on company law and corporate governance for directors and corporate executives of private as well as publicly listed companies, members of professional bodies and officers of governmental institutions and third sector organisations. He is and Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors and has experience serving as a director on corporate boards, charities and statutory bodies as well as on the committees of various professional bodies.
Professor Yeo's research interests are in the areas of corporate law, corporate governance and securities regulation.

His publications include the co-authoring of several books relating to corporate law and governance and papers in both academic and professional journals in this field. These include a text on Singapore Company Law that is being used as a primary text for company law modules for accounting and business students in the major tertiary institutions in Singapore as well as for professional examinations on this area. He has also contributed country papers to initiatives such as the OECD Asian Roundtable on Corporate Governance and has given numerous presentations at seminars and conferences on the subject.
