Chris Khoo is an associate professor at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He teaches courses in knowledge organization/representation (focusing on ontology, knowledge graph, graph database and graph visualization), and data analytics (data mining and social media analytics).
He obtained his PhD at Syracuse University, an MSc in Library & Information Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and BA at Harvard University.
He has also worked for several years as a science reference librarian at the National University of Singapore Libraries.
His main research interests are in knowledge graph and graph visualization, text mining (information extraction, text summarization and sentiment analysis), and multidisciplinary study of academic writing & thinking.
He was the editor of the Singapore Journal of Library & Information Management, from 1997 to 2002. He is the editor of the LIBRES e-journal (an open-access journal)) from 2014 to 2022.

Academic writing, reading & thinking: Multidisciplinary approaches to academic writing, and exploring the relations between reading, thinking and writing. Development of an Academic Writing Assistant Web application, focusing on argument-information-linguistic structure.
