Assoc Prof Sreenivasulu Reddy Mogali

Associate Professor Sreenivasulu Reddy Mogali is the Head of Anatomy in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. He received both MSc and PhD degrees in Medical Anatomy from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, India. Prior to this appointment, worked at his alma mater in the capacity of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Professor of anatomy from 2004 to 2012. He was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia from 2012 to 2014.
Assoc. Prof Mogali is instrumental in setting up the anatomy department at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Singapore. He leads the highly acknowledged multi-modality and multi-specialty team taught anatomy curricula covering MBBS, postgraduate, and bio-medical engineering courses. He has made important contribution in medical education and scholarship particularly to emerging technologies for anatomical education. His inter-disciplinary projects related to 3D printing, AR/VR technologies, medical serious games and framework for collaborative creativity attracted the competitive grants including the Ministry of Education Tertiary Education Research Fund (MOE TRF), Singapore. His work has been published in a reputed medical education journal such as Anatomical Sciences Education, Medical Teacher, Scientific Reports, JMIR Serious games and BMC Medical Education. He (and his research students and staff) has received prizes for presentations at various scientific conferences. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of the journals Anatomical Sciences Education and BMC Medical Education. Assoc. Prof Mogali has a great passion for teaching and learning using student-centered approaches. He has an extensive experience in modernizing the medical education (pre-clinical) curricula and tools to enhance the student learning outcomes. He was awarded the prestigious Nanyang Education Award (school, college, and university level) for excellence in teaching. He was also awarded the Senior Fellowship Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) in 2022 in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education.

Assoc. Prof Mogali research interest lies in the technologies for education with an aim to advance the anatomy education and training future doctors by tech-powered teaching and learning methods. He is interested to develop, evaluate and production of novel tools for anatomy and surgical education based on the 3D printing, immersive (AR and VR) technologies and medical serious games. He also interested in developing student-centered teaching and learning methods such as developing a scaffolding framework for learning online collaborative creativity (FLOCC) based on social constructivism and social interdependence theories.
