He joined NIE after receiving his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Iowa (USA) in 1992. Beside serving within MME, he also served as Head/Centre of IT in Education, Head/Translation Development Unit, Deputy Head/eduLab, research scientist/Centre of Research in Pedegogy & Practices. His current research interests lie in the designing and developing of ICT tools, applications and interactive digital contents for the teaching and learning of mathematics.
His main research interests in mathematics are in geometry and computer graphics.
In geometry, he studies local and global properties of Riemannian manifolds and their curvatures using geometrical approaches. In computer graphics, he works on geometric modeling, visualization, VR and simulation.
He is also interested in the designing and developing of general IT tools, applications and interactive contents for the teaching and learning of mathematics.
He also paricipated in a few Translation and Scaling projects on educational technology innovations.
