A/P Tan Ai-girl graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Munich, Germany. She was a DAAD scholar during her doctorate studies, and was a visiting professor of the University of Munich Germany joint-sponsored by DAAD. A/P Tan is well versed in five languages (English, German, Japanese, Malay, and Mandarin). A/P Tan's research interests included multicultural education, psychology of creativity, inventive design, innovative pedagogies, and talent development. To-date she has supervised numerous doctorate and Master dissertations, and integrated new methodologies (e.g., meta-ethnography and meta-synthesis) to guide development of practitioner-researchers competencies. A/P Tan is a life member of Educational Research Association Singapore (ERAS), and a full member of Association of Psychological Science (APS). She is the chief editor of the book series 'Creativity in the 21st Century'(Springer). Recently, she was one of the NIE NTU recipients of the 20 year long-service award.
