Dr Ng Wee Leng is a Senior Lecturer at the Mathematics and Mathematics Education (MME) academic group (AG), National Institute of Education (NIE). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, a Master of Science degree, a Master of Education degree, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mathematics. Prior to joining NTU, Dr Ng was the Head of Mathematics department of Temasek Junior College, and then an assistant director at the Planning Division of the Ministry of Education, Singapore.

At NIE, Dr Ng conducts many courses on mathematics education for pre-service and in-service teachers, and is MME AG’s leader of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme. His areas of specialization include the use of technology in the teaching and learning of mathematics, and he teaches a course titled “Using Technology in Mathematics Education” in the Master of Education (MEd) programme. He has also conducted numerous workshops for educators in Singapore and in more than 10 cities in many different countries.
Dr Ng has been active in research, and was the Principal Investigator of two funded research studies on, respectively, the use of an advanced graphing calculator in teaching and learning mathematics, and flipped classroom. He has supervised MEd students in educational research, and has been invited to conduct workshops, present research findings, and deliver keynote lectures at international conferences. Dr Ng’s areas of expertise also include integration theory and has published a monograph titled “Nonabsolute Integration on Measure Spaces.”
Dr Ng Wee Leng’s areas of expertise include the use of technology in teaching and learning mathematics, theory of nonabsolute integration, and ancient Chinese mathematics. He has published a scholarly book, 8 professional books, 4 chapters in scholarly books, and 34 research articles.
