Dr Teo Kok Ming has been with the Mathematics and Mathematics Education Academic Group since 2001. He received his BSc (Hons) degree in mathematics from the National University of Singapore, and his PhD in mathematics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He also received a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education. Prior to joining the National Institute of Education, he had taught mathematics at a junior college in Singapore, and at the mathematics department of the National University of Singapore. He is a member of the Singapore Mathematical Society and the Association of Mathematics Educators.
Dr Teo's research insterest is in the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics; in particular, on misconceptions and learning difficulties of abstract mathematical concepts in calculus, linear algebra and abstract algebra, and in exploring ways to address these issues.
