Dr Ang Liang Peng

Dr. Ang Liang Peng joined the education service in 1989, upon receiving his Diploma in Education at the then Institute of Education, Singapore. He was a senior education officer with the Ministry of Education (MOE) prior to joining the Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) Academic Group at National Institute of Education in 2004. He is currently the Programme Leader for BA(Ed) programmes in ALC.

Dr. Ang specializes in the area of language testing and assessment; and teaching of language skills, both for pre-service and higher degree programmes. His current research interest lies in the field of Chinese as a second language testing and assessment.

Dr. Ang served in various Curriculum Review Steering Committees in Primary Schools and Secondary Schools Chinese Language Syllabuses at MOE. He has been invited to conduct courses and workshops on pedagogy of language skills and language assessment in Confucius Institute at NTU and a number of school clusters and schools at MOE.
Dr. Ang's areas of expertise include testing and assessment in Chinese as an international language, language pedagogy, and teaching of Chinese language skills.
