Dr. Yvonne Seng is a faculty member at the National Institute of Education, contributing to the Office of Teacher Education, Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group, as well as the Singapore Centre for Character and Citizenship Education. Her academic credentials are robust, holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the renowned Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, and later advancing her scholarly pursuits at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where she achieved both her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the National Institute of Education.

Prior to her current engagement, Dr. Seng demonstrated an exceptional career trajectory in Singapore's educational sphere, taking various influential teaching and administrative roles. Notably, she was appointed Vice Principal before joining the National Institute of Education in 2011. She has been deeply committed to the teaching profession, imparting values, knowledge and skills on a diverse range of topics. These include motivation, educational psychology, developmental psychology, pedagogical practices, assessment, teacher-student relationships, parent engagement and character and citizenship education. Dr Seng's research interests encompass the domains of Positive psychology, Character and Citizenship Education, motivation, positive youth development, values, and life skills.

Marked by her profound dedication to teaching and genuine investment in her students' academic progress and holistic development, Dr. Seng sets a high standard in the field of education. Her notable contributions were nationally recognized when she was bestowed with the Republic of Singapore National Day Commendation Medal in 2007. Moreover, her teaching excellence earned her the esteemed National Institute of Education Excellence in Teaching Commendation Award in 2015, 2017 and again in 2023. These distinguished honours serve as a testament to Dr. Seng's ongoing commitment and significant impact on Singapore's educational landscape.
