Associate Professor KEE Ying Hwa (Adrian) is currently the Head of the Physical Education and Sports Science Academic Group, having recently completed his term as Assistant Dean, Graduate Education (Research) at NIE.
Dr. Kee received his doctoral training from National Taiwan Normal University, supported by the Taiwan Scholarship. He holds a MSc in Exercise & Sport Studies from NTU and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education (B.P.H.E) from the University of Western Australia.
As a scholar in sport psychology and motor behaviour, his specific research interest lies in the application of mindfulness in human movements and peak performance. His authored work, "Relationships between mindfulness, flow dispositions and mental skills adoption," published in the journal Psychology of Sport & Exercise Science, ranks among the top three most frequently cited articles on mindfulness and sport from 1968 to 2021 (Birrer et al., 2023). His latest research focuses on the effects of mindfulness on complex pattern recognition to enhance performance in sports and human movements.
Dr. Kee's teaching expertise includes sport psychology, motor behaviour, research methods, sport technology, and systems thinking. He also holds a WSQ Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) and has extensive experience in conducting corporate training workshops.
Previously serving as Co-Editor for the International Journal of Sport Psychology, Dr. Kee is currently an Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
