Dr Zason Chian is currently a senior lecturer with the Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Academic Group at National Institute of Education (NIE). He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy in Physical Education from Nanyang Technological University. Prior to joining NIE, Zason has had 15 years of working experience at the Ministry of Education, firstly in schools as a Physical Education (PE) teacher and Sports Secretary, and subsequently in the headquarters as a Senior Specialist for PE & Sports curriculum planning. Zason's main research & specialised areas include motivation in youth sport, character development in PE and sport, as well as psychological skills training for athletes.
