Dr. Tommy Ng is a faculty member of the Physical Education and Sports Science academic group at National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He teaches courses in human growth and development, motor control, and motor learning.
Dr. Ng obtained his basic degree from The University of Queensland, Australia in 2002. In 2006, he pursued Master degree at Simon Fraser University, Canada. Part of the Master programme required him to carry out research at the renowned Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Kyoto, Japan. His thesis 'Neural Mechanisms of Incorporating Knowledge of Prior Experience Into Feedforward Motor Commands' won him a PhD Scholarship at Macquarie University, Australia. After PhD completion in 2012, he returned to Singapore to take up a postdoctoral research position in NTU. Since 2014, he has been teaching at NIE.
