His thesis 'Neural Mechanisms of Incorporating Knowledge of Prior Experience Into Feedforward Motor Commands' won him a PhD Scholarship at Macquarie University, Australia. After PhD completion in 2012, he returned to Singapore to take up a postdoctoral research position in NTU. Since 2014, he has been teaching at NIE.
