Research Scientist, National Institute of Education - Office of Education Research
Dr Elizabeth Kim is a developmental psychologist specialising in social conformity in early childhood. In particular, her work explores how preschoolers deal with positive and negative social pressure by peers across various domains (ex. moral judgments, health behaviors) and cultures. She received her doctorate in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California Irvine and her Master of Education in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her research has been supported by Fulbright Scholarship, the US National Science Foundation and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), among others. She is currently investigating how to promote early social-emotional and leadership skills among preschoolers through various training methods. Her recent collaborations explore how to enhance young children's engagement and well-being in creative spaces, and the use of AI/technology to support children's learning in non-formal learning environments.
