Academic Profile : No longer with NTU
I am an environmental microbiologist who works mostly with anaerobes. I am interested in how small molecules, either native or exogenous, interact with the microbial envelope and the reactions these mediate. Current projects include the modification of microbial membranes not only to kill cells but also to enhance particular features of their physiology; an investigation into extracellular electron transfer (EET) under environmentally relevant conditions; high pressure Microbially Induced Corrosion; and the development of several bioelectrochemical detectors. A highly collaborative individual with an interest in science commercialisation, I work with a number of partners both locally and internationally and who hail from academic and industrial spheres.
