Jorge Sinval is a psychometrician who works as a researcher at the National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University. He is also a visiting professor at the University of São Paulo and the Federal University of São Paulo. He teaches statistical analysis, psychometrics, research design, and data analysis across different study levels (bachelor's, master's, and doctoral). He is a researcher (integrated member) at the Business Research Unit (Iscte-IUL), and a researcher at the "Organizational and Work Psychology" research center (University of São Paulo). He has a Master's in Epidemiology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, and a Master's in Psychology (with a specialization in work and organizational psychology) from the Portuguese Catholic University. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the Portuguese Catholic University. Currently, he is doing his postdoctoral research at the Paulista School of Medicine (Federal University of São Paulo) and a Master's in Data Science at ISCTE Business School (Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa). His research interests include psychometrics, Bayesian structural equation modeling, organizational psychology, epidemiology, and large-scale international studies (e.g., TIMSS, PISA, and PIRLS). As a Cochrane author, he is also very interested in occupational health, and is developing a systematic review with an international team of co-authors on interventions to improve the work recovery process. He collaborates in the Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) consortium.
