Dr Mohamed Arif Bin Mohamed

Dr Arif Mohamed was appointed the position of Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in 2023. His research interests span from turbulence modelling, wind resource assessment, and helicopter aerodynamics, Dr Arif Mohamed has established a diverse research portfolio that also includes data-driven methods in air traffic conflict detection and fluid dynamics.

Notable collaborations include projects with Leonardo Helicopter and research funded by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) during a tenure at the Air Traffic Management Research Institute. In his research, Dr Arif Mohamed applies Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and machine learning techniques, as well as develop applications through Python.

Dr Arif Mohamed's scholarly contributions are well-documented in a range of peer-reviewed publications. These include articles in journals such as Physics of Fluids and International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, as well as conferences like IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems and International Symposium on Turbulence and Shear Flow Phenomena.

In the academic setting, Dr Arif Mohamed is currently the course coordinator for Introduction to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and also teaches Introduction to Computational Thinking, Aerodynamics, and Aircraft Navigation and Flight Computers. Previous teaching responsibilities included Mathematical Methods in Engineering.
