Dr. Jiayu Yao joined the Division of Information Technology and Operation Management at NBS in August 2023. She earned her Ph.D. in Information Technology Management from Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. Her broad research interests are in the economics of IS, and her work focuses on Fintech, crowdfunding, wisdom of crowds, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence. Her research studies crowd behaviors and their value in Fintech by applying econometric, machine learning, and experimental methods. Her work is under review at Management Science and has been presented at various IS conferences and workshops such as the Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST) and Statistical Challenges in Electronic Commerce Research (SCECR). She received Sandra and Ronald Slaughter Ph.D. Fellowship and has been recognized with a university-wide teaching award.
