Dr Li Qiujie has a wealth of expertise in Instructional Design, Learning Analytics, and Data Visualization. She earned her PhD in Education from the University of California, Irvine, complemented by Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Educational Technology from Beijing Normal University. She is specialized in motivation and self-regulation theories, coupled with a strong emphasis on learning analytics techniques aimed at enhancing the landscape of online teaching and learning. She is deeply committed to empowering both students and educators, reflecting a dedication to fostering positive changes in education practices. Her research findings have been featured in leading education journals and presented at esteemed conferences, such as Computers and Education, The Internet and Higher Education, the International Conference on Educational Data Mining, and the Learning Analytics and Knowledge Conference.
Dr. Li's research seeks to apply learning science theories and learning analytics techniques to understand and improve online teaching and learning. I have published and disseminated my research in top-ranking educational journals and conferences, including over 10 conference presentations and invited talks in the US and internationally and 15 published/in press papers. Specifically, her work includes the three broadest strands:
1 Apply Learning Science Theories and Learning Analytics to Investigate Online Learning Processes;
2 Identify and Promote Effective Online Instruction;
3 Improve Online Teaching and Learning through Data Visualizations of Student Learning Processes.
