Dr. Felix Tan Thiam Kim is no stranger to the College of Humanities (CoHASS), Arts & Social Sciences (SSS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He lectures on the interdisciplinary core course (ICC) "Ethics and Civics in a Multicultural World," alongside modules such as "Theories of International Relations," "Foreign Policy Analysis," "Interstate Conflicts," and "International History of Asia".

Dr. Tan earned his PhD in Comparative Government and Politics from the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research primarily explores the impact of Political Islam and Islamisation on the socio-political landscapes of Indonesia and Malaysia. Additionally, his interests encompass Theories of International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, and Southeast Asian history, politics, and governance.

He is the co-author of "Unmasking Singapore’s 2020 General Elections: COVID-19 and the Evolving Political Landscape" (World Scientific, 2021) and the author of "Myanmar’s Fragmented Democracy: Transition or Illusion" (World Scientific, 2022). Dr. Tan is currently working on his third book, "Cult of Personality and the Demise of Political Ideology: Hero-Worship in Southeast Asian Politics," to be published by Palgrave Macmillan. As a sought-after commentator on domestic and regional political affairs, Dr. Tan regularly provides insights on Singaporean politics to various local and international media outlets, including CNA, The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, TODAY, Yahoo News, and CNBC.
