Dr Christina Low
Lecturer, School of Humanities
Christina Low is a lecturer at the Language and Communication Centre (LCC), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She completed her PhD in Linguistics at the School of Humanities, NTU in 2023 on an NTU Research Scholarship. She has an MA in English Studies and BA in English Language and Philosophy from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education, NTU.

Prior to joining LCC, Christina taught academic writing and presentation to PhD students and professional communication to undergraduates at NUS. Before embarking on her doctoral studies, she worked in global scholarly publishing for 10 years and was an educator for 12 years before that, teaching communication skills at various polytechnics and English Language at secondary schools and SEAMEO Regional Language Centre.

Christina’s doctoral research was on the variation and change of Singapore English vowels based on a sociophonetic study of data from the National Speech Corpus.
