Dr Sherwin Chua
Lecturer, Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information
Sherwin Chua (PhD) is a journalism lecturer and researcher at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Sherwin is a former journalist whose teaching and research interests revolve around digital journalism, media innovation, and emerging technologies. He is particularly interested in understanding the evolving interrelationship between digital platforms and the practices and business of journalism. Sherwin also serves as a member of the Digital Journalism editorial board.

His work also includes collaborations with industry associations such as the Asian-American Journalists Association (AAJA-Asia), the International News Media Association (INMA), and the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).

Prior to academia, Sherwin was the editor of Men’s Health magazine with Singapore Press Holdings and a newspaper journalist with MediaCorp’s Today.

Sherwin obtained his Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from WKWSCI in 2017. He went on to receive his PhD in Journalism, Media, and Communication from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden in 2023.
