Hongyu Zhong joined the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology as a Nanyang Assistant Professor in August 2024. Previously, he was an ETH Fellow at ETH Zürich for his post-doctoral study (2021-2024). He received his BS in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill (2016) and his PhD from Princeton University (2021).
The Zhong group works at the interface of organometallic and organic chemistry by leveraging fundamental coordination chemistry for new catalyst design and new reactivity in synthesis and catalysis, with a focus on sustainability and applicability of the reaction systems.
