Adam John Privitera is a Research Scientist in the Science of Learning in Education Centre, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. He earned his PhD from the University of Hong Kong (Faculty of Education) specializing in cognitive science. Dr. Privitera’s research focuses on the impact of differences in language experience on cognitive control and decision-making, as well as the application of findings from the cognitive and neural sciences to educational policy and practice. His work has been published in top-ranked academic journals including Higher Education, Bilingualism: Language and Cognition, The International Journal of Bilingualism, and Language and Cognition. Dr. Privitera also continues to present his work at top international conferences including the annual meetings of the Psychonomic Society and the Cognitive Science Society. He currently serves on the editorial boards of a number of journals including Bilingualism: Language and Cognition and Trends in Neuroscience and Education. Previously, Dr. Privitera served as a Medical Sergeant in the United States Army (2002-2012), a Psychology Instructor and Program Chair in the United States (2011-2016), and both an AP Psychology Teacher (2016-2021), and Assistant Professor of Psychology (2021-2023) in China.
