Jie Shen is an assistant professor at the School of Materials Science & Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Before he joined NTU, he conducted his postdoctoral research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University and was a visiting researcher in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
His current research centers on the molecular-level designing and understanding of mass-transport channels, nanofluidics, and membrane materials. Harnessing channels and membranes as versatile platforms, the Shen Research Group @ NTU, Singapore, is dedicated to exploring interdisciplinary innovations and advancing the next-generation sustainable technologies to address challenges related to energy, environment, and healthcare.
