Dr Olivia Ng
Lecturer, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine
Olivia is a Lecturer in Medical Education, Assessment and Analytics. She earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Vascular Fluid Dynamics, from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia.

Drawing on her engineering education background, Olivia brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to medical education, bridging medicine, engineering, and education to tackle complex challenges. Her work encompasses medical education, assessments, translational medical engineering, and the integration of technology, including AI and analytics, into learning. She has led projects on student learning analytics dashboards, AI-driven curriculum mapping, and innovative assessment methods, effectively bridging the technical and pedagogical domains in medical education.

Olivia is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with Advance HE and an Adjunct Associate Lecturer with the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. She also played a pioneering role in developing a university-wide award-winning analytics solution at UNSW as a Senior Educational Designer and Lead Analytics Designer.
Olivia’s current research focuses on leveraging technology, analytics, and innovative assessment strategies to create inclusive and effective learning outcome in medical education. She is also looking to actively employs learning analytics to personalise educational experiences while advocating for equitable and accessible AI applications that benefit learners from diverse backgrounds.
