Arianne Conty is a continental philosopher from France. Her fields of expertise are in the philosophy of nature, comparative philosophy with India, and the philosophy of religion. She has been focusing on the Anthropocene, and the ways this new Age shifts our ontological presuppositions and deconstructs such modern constructs as nature/culture, and body/mind. She is the author of the book Grounding God: Religious Responses to the Anthropocene Age, published by SUNY press in 2023, and the forthcoming Putting Modernity into Perspective: An Alternative Genealogy of the Modern Subject, forthcoming from SUNY Press. She has also published 26 articles in excellent peer-reviewed journals and 6 book chapters. Prior to arriving at NTU, Professor Conty was Assistant Professor at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy, and Associate Professor at the American University of Sharjah, in the UAE.
Professor Conty focuses her research in the philosophy of nature, comparative philosophy and philosophy of religion.
