Zoe received her PhD from SOAS, University of London. Prior to NTU, she held a faculty position at the University of Central Lancashire, U.K. She was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University and a recipient of the Leverhulme Research Grant. She serves as the book review editor for the Journal of Pragmatics and is an editorial board member for Frontiers in Communication.
Her research focuses on pragmatics and computational linguistics, as well as their interface with sociolinguistics and applied linguistics. She is especially interested in the intricate relationships between language forms, social contexts, and indexical meanings.
Zoe has a professional proficiency in Mandarin, Korean, and English, and a working proficiency of Japanese. She welcomes PhD and postdoc applications in the above-listed research areas across the world.
