dc.description.abstractKeeping it together: The putative S5 immunity (S5I) protein confers resistance to pyocin S5 in P. aeruginosa. We show that S5I prevents cellular lysis in cells expressing S5I protein. This paves the way to a better understanding of its role in cellular adaptation and could be used for therapeutic purposes in future.en_US
