Abstract: Industrial and academic partners from the Netherlands realized the world’s first 3D concrete printed bicycle bridge. Certification safe use in practice was obtained through the concept of “Design by Testing”. Innovative reinforcement concepts were applied to guarantee safe failure behaviour. This paper discusses the design, testing, manufacturing and assembling of the bridge.
