Abstract: Singapore's decision to send a Landing Ship Tank for anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden under the US-led Combined Task Force 151 reveals pragmatism at the strategic, operational and tactical levels. It also signals a shift in strategic thinking to contribute to global security.
