Abstract: The multi[2]rotaxanes with gold nanoparticles as centers are constructed by introducing chromophoric β-cyclodextrin-based [2]rotaxanes on the surface of gold nanoparticles, which show good photophysical and electrochemical properties superior to the parent rotaxane.
