Abstract: This paper examines the calibration of a thermal conductivity sensor used for in situ matric suction measurement. A new calibration method is introduced. Performance of the thermal conductivity sensor in terms of salinity of pore water, heating power, hysteresis, response time and matric suction measurement range is also examined.
