Abstract: More than just skin deep: Carbon-coated CdS petalous particles have been synthesized through a one-pot solvothermal method. The carbon nanocoating serves multiple functions, including protection of the CdS surface, enhancement of visible light absorption, and facilitating the separation of photogenerated charges. As a result, this CdS-C nanohybrid photocatalyst exhibits significantly enhanced photostability and photocatalytic activity.
