Abstract: The explosive growth of the Internet has brought about countless positives, notwithstanding the massive potential boosts to commercial growth, coupled with improvements in general standards of living with the possibilities that the Internet has opened up. However, this same growth process has also brought about several undesirable elements that societies have had to deal with. Hand in hand with the exponential growth of Internet users, the problem of ‘spam’ has been propagated and is causing great concern among various parties.
