Abstract: The aim of this study is to explore the impact of the variables self interest, group interest and organizational distance on the followers’ perception of their leaders’ effectiveness. We examined how perceived leadership effectiveness, specifically on the dimensions competency, morality and likeability, is affected by these three factors.
